Title: Harry Potter and the cursed child
Author: J.K Rowling, John Tiffany & Jack Thorne
Personal rating: 4/5
The Eighth story.
Nineteen years later…
It was always difficult being Harry Potter and it isnt mich easier now that he is an overworked employee of the Ministry of Magic, a husband, and a father of three school-age children.
While Harry grapples with a past that refuses to stay where it belongs, his youngest son Albus must struggle with the weight of a family legacy he never wanted. As past and present fuse ominously both father and son learn the uncomfortable truth: Sometimes, darkness comes from unexpected places.
After waiting so long for this book my boyfriend suprised me with it yesterday and i sat and read it with in a few hours! This book is written as a play and the writing is all scripted. When i first read a few pages i thought i wouldnt be able to get over the fact that its not written as a ‘normal’ Harry Potter book but after getting past ‘scene three’ i was totally hooked!
The story picks up from the end of the last film of the Harry Potter series ‘The dealthy Hallows’. In scene one you learn Harry and Ginny have two sons and a daughter, James Potter,Lily Potter and Albus Severus Potter. The play is basiclly based all around Albus and Scorpius, Draco’s son. They both become bestfriends and they both feel as if they are outcasts at Hogwarts.
This book is written in Two parts. I love the fact that the writer as brought back so many much loved characters Such as Ron and Hermione ( who are married to each other and have children) and Draco Malfoy, who all come together in a huge plot twist.
This book is totally worth the wait and if you have not read it and your a huge Harry Potter fan like me then go out and buy it you will not be let down!! The script it self is amazing and really easy to follow the only thing is is that there isnt as much detail as i would of liked compared to the other books.
I would love to see this as a play but i think it would be strange to not have the normal characters as then selfs. I think they should of wrote a book before this one explaining Harry getting married and having children and what else happened when he left hogwarts..
I dont want to give anymore away, comment below what you enjoyed about the book and if you think anything about the book should of been different.
